EddieУчастник
I’m sorry to bring bad news again to Alex.
In my AG archive I found this:
Zwart: 07/08/12/13/23/27/29 Wit: 16/19/20/24/28/33/38
A. Kuijken (competition Kring voor Damproblematiek, 2000)
published in De Problemist, june 2000 and in Spectrum (2004).Complete solution: 204, 11, 2, 48 (32) 42 (17 A 28, 26 (22) 31 (228) 4 (33) 10 (29) 15; A: (18) 28, 20 (28) 3 (33) 9 (23) 14 (29) 20; B: (18) 28, 20 (13) 24 (28) 2 (32) 7 (22) 11 (27) 16
EddieУчастникLambert-Jan Koops mailed me about the motives.
The archive of C.K. Kaan tells that the position 9/18/22 — D25 can be put on name of J.H. Scheijen (19-11-1961).
There is another motiv that looks a bit the same: 13/18/23 — D24. This one is on name of B. Meester (1951).The version 7/18/23 — D16 he couldn’t find, maybe because it’s not there, maybe because he hasn’t figured out the system of Kaan yet. But can’t it be seen as a mirrorversion of the first position?
EddieУчастникThe problem 04/07/10/22/28/35/45 — 15/24/30/31/33/34/50, made three months ago by Alex, has another author I just discovered. The information I received today tells me that in 1983 it was made already by S. Zilevicius.
EddieУчастникDear mr Fenix / Peter. Is it possible to get the results and authors of the problems in the competition you mentioned in your post of 19/2/2005 ?
EddieУчастникIn the problem: 01/02/09/14/25/33/34 -12/16/18/20/22/24/35 also possible is: 8, 17, 7, 19, 30, 10
EddieУчастникHello Alex. Your problem 03/20/27/29/30/36/39 — 13/18/22/31/38/40/47 is rather new, but Virmis was earlier: check his site, the may 2005 problems part 3 !
EddieУчастникThank you, Miljenko, I’m very honoured.
P.s. ik ben momenteel bezig met je werken door te nemen uit de periode 1999 en verder, de problemen zitten natuurlijk al in het archief maar ik head nog niet overal de gegevens over de eerste publicatie.
EddieУчастникBecause the database of motives appears to be very complicated, Lambert Jan Koops wrote me he cannot answer my question at once. He needs time to study it first, then he hopes to give me information about the motive that Alex found.
EddieУчастникI’m not specialized in motives, Alex ! I only could give you the information below because I found exact the same miniature as the one you made.
But maybe there is a way to find out.
In the latest edition of De Problemist (just received it) I saw that there’s an archive of motives, Mr. C.K. Kaan did a fine job here. After his death (not long ago) another person is going further with his work.I will mail him and let you know.
EddieУчастникIt’s hard to find motives in the archive of miniatures, but now I can tell you that the motive 9/18/22 — D25 is at least known since 1997.
Exact the same problem as nr. 2 I found in the Archive Groeneveld:Black: 09/20/22/25/37/38/45 White: 15/19/23/24/29/34/47
D. van den Berg (AG, 25-12-1997): 30, 40, 10, 41, 5 (14) 25The AG qualification gives info about the date since when it’s in the archive. So Dik van den Berg can have made it in december 1997, but also years before.
EddieУчастникCongratulations with the championship, Alex !
EddieУчастникalemo wrote:Indeed my «author rights» are abonded, but I still beleive — my ending after shot is betterThat’s without doubt. In old times problemists didn’t always cared about the endgame.
EddieУчастникAlex, I found a miniature that is almost the same as the one you posted a few days ago:
Black: 09/17/19/22/27/36/37 White: 31/34/38/42/43/44/46
Made by A. Noordhuis (1935), it can be found in 1001 Miniaturen (1939), Damminiaturen (1977) and Dame Blanche (1999).In your version 9 is on 8, 17 on 28 and 46 on 47.
EddieУчастникIf I had found nr. 1 in my archive, I would have told you of course.
The system that is used to check if problems are made before is not very suitable for detecting the similarity with your nr. 2 and the problems of Slippens and Van Ballegooijen. It was only my memory that helped finding them.
EddieУчастникThe lovely manoeuvre in the second miniature I saw for the first time in a problem of the Dutchman J. Slippens («Wat wij misten»), 1946:
Black: 07/09/12/17/18/26/27
White: 21/24/28/32/33/34/37
Solution: 22, 31, 3 (23) 17 (29) 39 (12) 6In the column of Ton Sijbrands (De Volkskrant, 16-11-1991) this problem of M. van Ballegooijen can be found:
Black: 07/09/12/13/17/18/26
White: 24/27/28/32/34/37/39The winning move is 21! and after (182) 33 (27) the same idea arises.
