Was this posted before ? Four good variants:
1: [28] 35 [32] 24 [37] 47
2: [28] 35 [33] 30 [38] 48
3: [34] 32 [39] 49
4: [34] 32 [40] 28 [45] 50EddieУчастникNice way to reach the given idea !
EddieУчастникIndeed, this motiv made by Lauwen was used years and years ago seriously, but later it was discovered that there were more winning plans. That was my point (well, not really mine, an expert on motivs convinced me of it): there are not many positions with this idea that end in a clean way. The position of Viergever is an exception.
EddieУчастникThere are several motivs with about the same idea, but most of them have duals. For instance: black: 4, 45; white: D2, 15, 39. Winning is (9) 11 (13) 6 (18) 10 A (22) 28 (50) 41, but: A: 11 (23) 393 or 11-33 is also good.
The position above looks ok (J. Viergever, 1977): (40) 6 (18) 10 (44) 39 (22) 28 (50) 41.
EddieУчастникInteresting motivs ???
Motiv is from J. Bastiaannet, I believe.
Solution: 38 (34) 16 (17) 3 (18) 7 (182) 40 (28) 49 (33) 43 (21) 16 (39) 49.
The piece on 49 can be placed on 43 or 32 or 21 too.Author: N.N.
Solution: 2 (13) 7 (22) 18 (28) 4 (33) 10 (24) 15 (29) 20 (34) 38.
The piece on 16 can be placed on 11 too.EddieУчастникQuite a puzzle, Alex !
EddieУчастникThe writer of the book Dame Blanche didn’t know in 1999 that the problem was earlier made by Leo Springer. He published it on name of Van den Berg, who made the problem especially for this book. Remember the 3 to 1 motives I mentioned in my mails to you ? Van den Berg composed several 7×7 problems on them in the late 90’s. This was one of these miniatures.
But Springer has the oldest rights and can claim he is the author of it, if not another earlier publication is found.
In «my» (well, not mine alone: Groeneveld / Spijkers and myself worked on it) archive I mention other authors and publications as well, but just to give complete information to the people who want to know.
Did you know that miniatures exist that are made by about ten people ? The info about publications is important to give the problem the correct composer.EddieУчастникAuthor: L. Springer (ADG-er, june 1967). Also made by D. van den Berg (Dame Blanche, 1999)
EddieУчастникMiljenko, the problem 09/14/18/19/22/29/37 — 20/25/31/39/42/43/46 was already sent to the archive in april 2005. As far as I know the author did not publish it yet.

А. Моисеев, ШР, 12-26-2005Pity, Alex: after 33 both 10 and 23 are winning !

With 23 on 31 and 39 on 40 a problem made by Scheijen en Van den Elzen in 1966 arises. The motiv is different.
EddieУчастникYour solution, ending in 37/47, I found too. Nice idea, can you repair the problem ?
EddieУчастникБелые начинают и выигрывают
А. Моисеев, ШР, 12-17-2005Hello Alex ! My first attempt was: 31, 15, 4, 32, 25 +, but that will not be your solution of course.

17, 4, 4x31x24 (19×30 !)EddieУчастникIt would be a good idea to give a translation. The main thing: during the tournament in Leiden (2006) Tsjizov and Valneris will play an alternative WK match (7 games). You can expect weird scores (as 6-4 etc) when in the endgame one of the players has more pieces.
Both players can be seen in the Dutch teamcompetition, where a lot of East-European players are active. Take a look at the games here:
